Interpretive signs

Check out the interpretive signage near the southern wood chip path access to the meadow.
  • One tells the history of the Essex Mountain Sanatorium which once occupied the site, and is now the meadow.
  • The other explains the ecology of our upland meadow during each season.

Watch this space for changing seasons

Better yet, get out there and see the signs and the "nature"

The signage was funded by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration's Recreational Trails Program, through the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Installation was planned and carried out by Tara Casella, Jimmy Doherty, Domingo Narvaez and Charlie Tortoriello of the Essex County Department of Parks and Recreation.
